CLOSE YET SO FAR
Every time the rain taps gently on my window,
my heart softly whispers your name in the quiet.
Here I am, sitting by the glass...
pretending to watch the rain outside,
but the truth is, I’m only looking at you.
There you are—standing under a little umbrella,
wearing the prettiest, most effortless smile.
To you, it’s just a simple smile,
but to me, it’s the most beautiful part of this entire rainy night.
When you smile, the whole world slows down.
The only sound left is the falling rain,
and the sudden, loud racing of my heart.
Even if your eyes never happen to look my way,
my eyes will always find their way to you.
You offer a sweet little "hello" and walk on by,
but those tiny few seconds stay with me,
shining like a bright light in my heart all day long.
Somehow, I’ve fallen in love with your smile.
I’ve grown used to your quiet way of being.
And I’ve even gotten used to how my heart skips a beat the moment you are near.
You live your life, moving forward so easily,
while I have quietly turned you into the peaceful little world inside my mind.
My mornings always start with a thought of you,
and my nights always end with a wish for your happiness.
Strangely, just that is enough to keep me happy.
All my unspoken words are piling up inside,
gathering quietly like sweet little raindrops.
You are standing right here, so breathtakingly close,
yet you are a distance I can never touch.

என் நெஞ்சம் மௌனமாய்
உன் பெயர் பாடுதே!!
ஜன்னல் ஓரத்தில் நான்,
மழையை ரசிப்பது போல் …
ஆனால் என் விழியும் மனமும் தேடும் முகம் உனது!!!
சின்ன குடையின் கீழே நீ,
இயல்பான அந்த சிரிப்போடு நிற்கிறாய்…
உனக்கு அது ஒரு சாதாரண சிரிப்பு தான்,
ஆனால் எனக்கு—
இந்த இரவின் அழகான கவிதை.
நீ சிரிக்கும் நொடியில்
உலகம் கொஞ்சம் மெதுவாகிறது…
மழையின் ஓசையும்,
இதய துடிப்பும் மட்டுமே கேட்கிறது!!!
உன் பார்வை என் பக்கம் வராமல் போனாலும்,
என் கண்கள் எப்போதுமே
உன்னிடம் தான் வந்து சேரும்.
நீ சொல்லும் ஒரு "hello"
சில நொடிகள் தான் நீடிக்கும்…
ஆனால் அதன் ஒளி
நாள் முழுவதும்
என் நெஞ்சில் வட்டமிடும்!!!
எப்படியோ நான்
உன் சிரிப்பை நேசிக்க தொடங்கி விட்டேன்…
உன் அமைதியை விரும்ப தொடங்கி விட்டேன்…
நீ அருகில் வரும் போது
இதயம் தவிப்பதையும் ரசிக்க ஆரம்பித்து விட்டேன்.
நீ உன் வழியில் முன் செல்கிறாய்…
ஆனால் நான் உன்னை
என் மனதின் சிறு உலகமாய் உருவகித்து கொண்டேன்.
என் காலை உன் நினவுகளோடே விடிந்து,
இரவு உன் சந்தோஷத்துக்கான
அமைதியான வேண்டுதலோட முடிகிறது.
சொல்லாத வார்த்தைகள் எல்லாம்
மழைத்துளி போல
உள்ளே சேர்ந்துகொண்டே இருக்கிறது…
நீ அருகில் இருந்தாலும்,
நான் தொட முடியாத
தூரமாய் இருக்கிறாய்…
அதுதான் இந்த காதலின்
இனிமையான வலி.
ஆனால் இந்த நெஞ்சம்
இன்னும் ஒரு ஆசையை வெளிப்படுத்த தவறியது…
ஒரு நாள் நீ
என்னை பார்த்து புன்னகை சிந்த ஆசை …
எல்லாருக்கும் கொடுக்குற புன்னகை போல் இல்லாமல்,
கொஞ்சம் மென்மையாக…
கொஞ்சம் நெருக்கமாக…
உன் கண்கள் சொல்லும் பாடம் போதும்…
அந்த ஒரு நொடி போதும்—
நான் உன் இதயத்தின்
ஒரு சிறு மூலையில் வாழ்கிறேன்
என்று உணர…
அந்த நாள் வரும்வரை,
நான் இங்க தான் இருப்பேன்…
ஜன்னல் ஓரத்தில்,
மழை ஓசை இசை மீட்ட,
உன் பார்வைகளை களவாடி,
சொல்லப்படாத காதலோடு
அமைதியாக வாழ்ந்துகொண்டு…
