✈️ The Mysterious Case of D.B. Cooper — The Unsolved Hijacking

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share something intriguing — many of you might already be familiar with this story, as it is one of the most mysterious cases in FBI history. It has always fascinated me, and I thought it would be worth discussing here.

I’m talking about D.B. Cooper (a pseudonym), the man behind the infamous hijacking that remains unsolved to this day.

Who Was D.B. Cooper?

On the afternoon of November 24, 1971, a man identifying himself as Dan Cooper purchased a one-way ticket from Portland, Oregon to Seattle, Washington. He boarded Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 305, a Boeing 727-100 aircraft, carrying a briefcase and wearing a suit with a black overcoat.

Cooper took a seat in the rear of the plane. Once in flight, he lit a cigarette and ordered a drink. After receiving and paying for it, he passed a note to the flight attendant revealing he had a bomb.

The Hijacking and Ransom

The note demanded $200,000 in twenty-dollar bills and two parachutes. He remained calm and polite.

After landing in Seattle, the FBI provided the ransom and parachutes. The passengers were released, and the plane was refueled. Cooper, with four crew members aboard, took off again.

The Jump Into History

He instructed the pilots to fly toward Mexico City at 10,000 feet and 200 mph. At 8:13 p.m., somewhere over southwest Washington, he jumped from the rear stairs into darkness — and into legend.

Neither Cooper nor most of the money was ever found.
