1. Use as little as 3 to 4 tsp of oil per day, enough only for the seasoning of dals & vegetables.
2. Til / Corn / Mustard / Sunflower / Saffola oil can be used. Avoid using Groundnut / Cottonseed oil.
3. Avoid Ghee / Butter / Cheese / Milk cream / Fried & Oily foods.
4. Avoid Sugar / Jaggery / Honey / Fruit Juices / Aerated drinks / Sweets / Ice creams / Cream biscuits.
5. Use milk, only after removing cream twice (skimmed milk) for tea / coffee / curd / milk as such.
6. Restrict the use of coconut & groundnuts to minimum.
7. Restrict the use of pulpy fruits like banana / Chiku / mango / Pineapple / Sitafal / Musk Melon. Instead prefer fruits like Orange / Mosambi / Guava / Apple / Papaya / Watermelon. Fruits that can be had with the peel, have them with the peel.
8. Avoid using Soda Bi-carb in cooking.
9. Avoid table salt. Do not add salt in Salads / Butter Milk / Curds.
10. Eat plenty of Green Vegetables & Salads.
11. Have at least one serving (1 katori) of sprouted or boiled pulses everyday.
12. Restrict use of root vegetables like sweet potatoes / yam / potato. To minimize the use of these vegetables, they can be used in the form of mix vegetables.
13. 1 tsp of coarsely grounded Methi seeds can be taken every morning, before breakfast.
14. Drink as much as 10 to 12 glasses of water during the day.
15. Do not skip any of your meals.
16. Eat small frequent meals & keep your meal timings regular (Avoid fasting).
17. Go for regular brisk walk for at least half an hour with doctor’s advise.
18. Perform yogasanas like Vajrasana, Mandukasana, Dhanurasana, Halasana Bhujangasana, Shavasana etc. & also perform pranayams like Kapal Bhati, Bhrastrika, Anulom vilom, Bhramri etc. All of them to be done on empty stomach at early morning for maximum & better results.
19. Check your sugar level regularly & consult the doctor on regular interval at least every 3 months.
20. Think positive, never negative. Your positive attitude helps a lot to improve the immunity & also avoid stress to control the sugar level.
